Beach Wheelchairs on the Big Island

Hawaii beach wheelchairs and accessible travel
Photos from Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park website

A reader recently returned from a vacation on the Big Island of Hawaii (color me jealous) and wanted to share about Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park. Also known as Place of Refuge, the park fronts Honaunau Bay, where not only is the scenery breathtaking, but it has beach wheelchairs provided for disabled visitors free of charge. She also mentioned that she was truly impressed with the number of paved access trails on the Big Island and National Parks that would have allowed anyone using a wheelchair really spectacular access!

I think this warrants further investigation, I am definitely up for the challenge.
