Product Review : AT&T Unite for GoPhone by NETGEAR mobile hotspot

mobile hotspot

The AT&T Unite for GoPhone by NETGEAR is a mobile hotspot that might just save your sanity. I’ve had a mobile hotspot for years, and appreciate the freedom it provides – personal, secure, fast wifi on demand is pretty addicting. I can securely access my email or the internet on my laptop during a business meeting out of the office, and just as easily keep my kids entertained while shuttling around to doctor appointments and after school events.   It’s especially beneficial when we travel. Wherever we have phone service, we can use our mobile hotspot.

Here are my favorite features about the AT&T Unite for GoPhone by NETGEAR mobile hotspot :

  1. No annual contract. This is why I disconnected my Verizon hotspot, paying $50/month for a set amount of data and a 2-year contract made me crazy. Some months I used more for huge overage fees, some months I used less and lost what was left. AT&T Unite for GoPhone costs less upfront and lets you buy what you need when you need it. Refill minutes by setting it to auto-refill if you have pretty consistent usage, or by phone or a refill card as needed.
  2. It provides internet for up to 10 tablets, laptops or other wifi devices so everyone in the family is happy. It even has Guest Wifi so that you can create a second wifi network for one time users without giving up security.
  3. The battery life lasts up to 10 hours – great for long days!
  4. It’s fast – 4G LTE/4G (where available).
  5. It’s easy to use. The intuitive touch screen guides you through set up and settings.

The AT&T Unite sells for $99.99 from AT&T stores, as well as other retailers like Best Buy, Radio Shack, Amazon and Walmart.

  • I’ve not heard of this device. I’m waiting for my KARMA hotspot to arrive but I’ll look into this one, too. It’s nice to know I have options because my cell phone bills are getting out of control.
