Experiencing Snowboarding as a Family: Application to Snowmamas Winter Vacation

We’ve always been an adventurous family; we love snowboarding, surfing, hiking, and wakeboarding. Snowboarding in particular has been a passion for us – in fact I found out that I was pregnant with my first child, Sydney, while snowboarding at Vail. We took Sydney on her first ski vacation when she was three months old to Park City. We enjoyed everything about our visit; the snow, town, restaurants, terrain – amazing.

Two years later we welcomed another girl to our family, Veronica Rose. Beautiful and precious, but she would face significant challenges. Veronica was born blind and she has no mobility or speech, but her difficulties are far out weighed by the joy she’s brought to our family. She has a hysterical sense of humor, often times she gets the joke before we do. She has a brave and trusting spirit. Whether sledding or out in the boat, the faster she goes the bigger her smile.

As a family our goal has been to find activities that everyone can enjoy together. One thing we have not been able to do is take Veronica skiing with us. Many winters she was simply too sick to even think about getting her on the slopes. As she’s grown and become stronger I have an even greater desire for my whole family to be on the mountain.

Winning the Snowmamas and EVO Winter Vacation Giveaway would give our family the opportunity to experience snowboarding and skiing together, as well as provide for us the information to make it a regular event. I would also love to explore the National Ability Center, it looks incredible! As a special needs travel writer I know my readers would enjoy hearing about all that Park City has to offer their families. We all have a shared goal; living life fully with our whole families being able to participate. Live the adventure!
